It’s been the most magical time showcasing my new novel. I had the honour of speaking at a Women’s Day event at the Goodwood Library on 14 August 2025. The library is such a special place for me as it’s where my love of reading developed and where I got lost in books.
So many women came up to me after the talk saying how they too wanted to write their stories. I reminded them of the importance to do so, whether they decided to publish or not, it was a huge achievement to share their stories with the next generation. I drove home that there is no age limit in writing and finding the time to write is possible.
My paperbacks arrived and I’ve been selling them to readers. I hope you’ve secured one for yourself? If not, I still have some available and wouldn’t want you to miss out. There are still goodie bags for those who buy a paperback this month. Please get in touch with me and I’ll gladly deliver one to you.
I’ve also been planning two new books that I want to write. One is a non-fiction and the other is the last instalment to the Youngblood series. Since I haven’t written a non-fiction book before it feels like I’m diving into the ocean without an oxygen tank. But I remind myself that it’s exactly how I felt when I wrote Sydney’s Boxer, my first romance novel. I need to face the doubt and discomfort and keep working to get it finished.
This year has been a wild ride for sure. I left my job last year to write full-time and it’s been non-stop change. Change is so hard, I can understand why people refuse to change anything or to leave a job that gives them purpose. But ultimately, when I look at my life and where I am now, it was what I wished for myself. I didn’t want to one day look back with regret on the things I didn’t do.
So I hope where ever you are in this trajectory of life, that you live it to the fullest. For we only have one big beautiful life and we owe it to ourselves to make our dreams come true.
